Currently working on @5finity’s Josie & Pussycats sketch card set (which is why there’s a lull in the DC sweater girls recently) - and felt compelled to do up an autumn themed drawing of the trio. I need to learn how to render trees properly T_T

I was seriously into Archie comics in my tween years - and my favourite drawings would always be the ones from the late 50s and 60s, particularly ones by Harry Lucey, Samm Schwartz and Dan DeCarlo. I even made some pretty awful knock-off Archie-esque fan comics (which are seriously super cringetastic, yucks). And then in high school I discovered manga and somehow unlearned everything I learnt from copying Archie comics (that is, if I even learnt anything in the first place XD).

Anyways, I really like how Dan DeCarlo would draw slightly different Pussycats costumes for the trio in different stories - and he’d add in different touches to fit their personalities (e.g wholesome for Josie, bombshell for Melody and practical for Valerie). And does anyone remember the bespectacled Pepper, who later got replaced by Valerie? I miss the good old fashioned Archie comics. It seems, to me, that it has lost its charm in recent years (and then again, it might just be me getting old..SOB).

Would you please draw all hero-ish/comic-y women in fall attire? Please?
