“This is Superman. He’s a lot like you. Crash-landed on Earth, didn’t know what he was doing… but he only uses his powers for good, never for evil. Remember that.”

Bolding mine.

Just got back from seeing Man of Steel. Thoughts on it later, maybe.

Evan draws the kind of Superman I want to see.

Spent yesterday afternoon at the movie with my youngest son…  here’s what I thought:
Great Krypton Bun Toons! YAY!

I wish Ty’d post things directly here on Tumblr rather than links to his always fun Bun Toons.
But anyway. If you’ve seen Man of Steel, please follow the link and tell me what you thought of it.

I am conflicted!
Some things I liked. Some I was just ‘meh’ on.
Others…just no.
The good things were REALLY GOOD. The ‘no’ I’m not sure how you come back from.

Man of Steel is out this week and it has inspired lots and lots of posts on the Lois Lane. Here’s a few you may want to check out.

I went to J-School because of Lois so I really enjoyed this piece by journalism professor Michele Weldon on why she loves Lois.

Forget the Man Of Steel….

and what’s your verdict?
Speaking in the broadest terms possible, because I wouldn’t want to spoil things for those who’ve yet to see it.
I liked it. I did.
Cavill was Clark, to me. Adams was…amazing. Loved all the supporting characters, really.

The women - all of them - had presence. They were meaningful and capable.
And when Superman flew for that first time? And he smiled? THAT WAS THE JOY I WANTED TO SEE.
I grinned like a fool and I don’t care.
I’ll never be a fan of the grey-blue wash, ever. The fights, for me at least, were muted and hard to keep up with.  But again, just how I felt.
Could have done without a certain ‘forced to’ (close to) ending.
But yes. I liked this movie a lot. A LOT.
