My Entry to the Batman Art Contest held by Fully Booked in line with David Finch’s visit this month! I heard about the contest last Saturday while taking a stroll around High Street. I was hesitant to join because the deadline was on March 1 so I had exactly 5 days to work on my entry. Which I though really wasn’t enough time for me to finish a killer Batman artwork. But then I thought, what the hell, ITS A BATMAN ART CONTEST! I had to at least submit something XD
So this is what I came up with. I wanted to avoid ending up with a generic Batman portrait so I went with a subject that represented him in a more symbolic way (naks deep XD) That’s why I went with the bat image and the scene where Bruce is left with his dead parents in Crime Alley. (poor poor bruce :( )
The whole piece is pencils on paper. I didn’t really have time to do any painting as I wanted to. So, I guess this had to do. I’m not really confident with it as a contest entry but hey, If there’s an off chance it gets to be displayed in one of the Fully Booked branches, I’m good! As we say here in the Philippines, “Bahala na si Batman” (Let Batman handle it!)
