DC COMICS HOME FOR UNWANTED HEROES my latest commission from Mike Kevan
I’ll be honest: my emotions regarding the DCnU hover in that space between anger & sadness, with occasional trips to frustrated.
I could go on & on about my feelings but I’ll stick with my preferred method of letting Mike translate those thoughts into images (something he does so well).
(embiggen for all the little details!)
I love barda design, always did
-trying out my new manga skin copics, with water colors and pitt pens
New commission featuring Nightwing. I’m enjoying using the copic markers, so commission me to do more! $40 would get you something like this…
Hello there, Mr. Grayson!
The first match-up is a Gotham City throw down!
In one corner, the smartest, sexiest, classiest thief ever:
Selina Kyle aka Catwoman!
and in the other,
the baddest ass district attorney and mom ever:
Kate Spencer aka Manhunter!
Voting starts at 7am EST tomorrow.
This round will be a lot easier than those to come, I think.
Okay it’s in Tiny Titans but this preview once again shows that this is the one book that will never, ever let me down and will always make me smile! Pick it up this Wednesday.
Tiny Scandal! Tiny Jeanette!
This Batman-inspired ensemble is so crisp and structured. The batwing scallops on the collar and on the peplum look quite chic.
Love the collar most of all.
Wonder Woman’s Origin from the DCAU film “Wonder Woman”
I posted the news earlier today that in issue three of the newest volume of Wonder Woman DC will radically change the character’s origin to include a father. In this clip from the animated feature, we see the a take on Wonder Woman’s traditional origin. If you think this movie dovetails with Gail Simone’s take on the origin from The Circle you’d be right. Simone was involved in the script.
You don’t get much more magical than ‘made from clay’…
BC got its hands on what seems to be an early look at the top twenty books in September according to Diamond. And if it is indeed accurate, it has some interesting and, frankly, exciting news.
The number one book was Batman and much congratulations to Scott Snyder who is solidifying his role…
Day 75: Batwoman
A female superhero with a name even my mother would approve of!
My mom would always scoff indignantly at names like SuperGIRL & BatGIRL.
“Why can’t they be WOMEN?” My mother would ask. “The guys are all MEN not BOYS: SuperMAN, BatMAN, SpiderMAN but then all the females are called GIRLS!”
Yep, my mom was a thorough feminist so it’s gotta be a real kick in the pants that her son grew up to illustrate buxom bombshell beauties. Lol!
She has fun with it though. She knows that my joy of drawing gorgeous women stems from a genuine appreciation of feminine beauty and a sincere respect.
Love you, mom! Enjoy BatWOMAN. :)
