Day 75: Batwoman

A female superhero with a name even my mother would approve of!

My mom would always scoff indignantly at names like SuperGIRL & BatGIRL.

“Why can’t they be WOMEN?” My mother would ask. “The guys are all MEN not BOYS: SuperMAN, BatMAN, SpiderMAN but then all the females are called GIRLS!”

Yep, my mom was a thorough feminist so it’s gotta be a real kick in the pants that her son grew up to illustrate buxom bombshell beauties. Lol!

She has fun with it though. She knows that my joy of drawing gorgeous women stems from a genuine appreciation of feminine beauty and a sincere respect.

I absolutely adore this time of year and creating these Halloween themed cutie pies just adds to the fun for me! If you missed it, here’s my Halloween Catwoman.

I had SO MUCH FUN drawing this! It’s gonna be tough for me to let this one go. Speaking of which…

Day 71: A Purrrfect Halloween!

When I was a kid I wanted Snickers, now I just want eye candy.

Many thanks to everyone who gave me props as I posted sneak peeks of this in progress over the weekend. Now, here she is all ready to join the holiday festivities.

I listed the original art for auction on eBay and I wanted to share it with you guys but someone snapped it up fast for the Buy It Now price before I could make the announcement.

So, Selina’s off to a cozy new home but that won’t stop us from tasting the digital version of this Halloween eye candy!

Who needs contacts? Glasses are sexy! I saw this myopic mistress at a local coffee shop.

You want to know the best part about drawing beautiful women in public? Seeing beauty in every woman. 

When I’m actively looking for beauty it’s amazing how much more of it I see. I try to carry that lesson into the rest of my life. Seeing beauty in the world around me is a choice. I always feel better when I choose it.

Day 56: The Huntress

My love affair with comic book babes started with issue #1 of The Huntress.

Back in the day my folks would buy me a comic book at the end of each week if I did all my chores. One week I picked up the first issue of The Huntress.

I loved the sexy/tough combo and it planted the creative seed inside of me for much of the work that I do today. When I received the order for this private commission I was immersed in nostalgia.
